Rosemary Drisdelle has been published many times as a nonfiction writer and several times as a poet. Her first book, Parasites: Tales of Humanity's Most Unwelcome Guests, was published by the University of California Press in Aug, 2010. Drisdelle has been writing for Suite101 since 2006 and was, for a time, Section Editor in Science and Nature.

A mixed educational background gives Drisdelle the broad base of experience and knowledge that informs her writing. Trained in the 70's as a medical laboratory technologist, she enjoyed a career in clinical microbiology, mycology, and parasitology for many years. She returned to studies as a part time student in her thirties and earned a BA, with a major in sociology and two minors: English, and peace and conflict studies. From that point on, she focused on writing.

Drisdelle has written for professional journals, trade publications, consumer magazines, and websites on various topics, most of which involved some aspect of health or nature. To find out more about her book and other publications, visit rosemarydrisdelle.com
